METHOD

How to compare upgrades safely

Use the same rate unit in the current and upgraded fields. Absolute gain is the difference. Gain per cost divides that improvement by a positive cost; payback divides cost by improvement.

Zero current rate makes percentage gain undefined, so the tool leaves that metric blank while retaining valid absolute and payback math. Non-improving rows stay visible but cannot become the mathematical leader.
